Welcome to FramAT’s documentation!¶
FramAT (Frame Analysis Tool) is a FEM implementation of the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory (also known as classical or engineering beam theory). The tool was initially written for a low-fidelity aeroelasticity model, but FramAT is a general purpose FE beam implementation. Most notably, FramAT provides the following functionality.
- Euler-Bernoulli beam analyses in 3D
- Assembly of complex beam structures
- Model definition with JSON files or with a model generator library
- Highly automatable model generation
- Elaborate definition of beam geometry and properties
- Elaborate definition of loads
- Python library for model generation
- Highly customisable plots
- Hooks for post-processing
