FramAT (Frame Analysis Tool) is a FEM implementation of the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory (also known as classical or engineering beam theory). The tool was initially written for a low-fidelity aeroelasticity model, but FramAT is a general purpose FE beam implementation. Most notably, FramAT provides the following functionality.

  • Euler-Bernoulli beam analyses in 3D
  • Assembly of complex beam structures
  • Model definition with JSON files or with a model generator library
  • Highly automatable model generation
  • Elaborate definition of beam geometry and properties
  • Elaborate definition of loads
  • Python library for model generation
  • Highly customisable plots
  • Hooks for post-processing
